Great California RV Camping Ideas

California State FlagYou want to visit California, but don't want to bother with hotels and rental cars. Why not travel by RV? Whether you're hitting the state's theme parks or national parks, capturing photos or catching the waves, it just makes sense to have a comfortable RV as your home base.

To make trip planning easier, here's a quick list of California RV camping ideas to stir your fantasies. Gather the family 'round and build your dream trip. You're going to love RV camping in California!

Attractions for the Kids
You can't travel California with kids without visiting one of the world-famous theme parks. Travelling by RV keeps trip costs reasonable - imagine what you'll save on hotel rooms, rental cars, and fast food!

Start your trip in Anaheim at that most famous of theme parks, Disneyland! And while you're there, save time to enjoy Disney's California Adventure. If travelling with Lego fanatics, head for Carlsbad, California to Legoland. A wild and crazy time awaits you as you discover rides, thrills and challenges for the entire family.

If vintage fun suits your fancy, spend your vacation in Santa Cruz and experience the ocean side amusement park at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The Giant Dipper roller coaster, built in 1924, is sure to thrill the kids, and don't miss the beautiful carousel that's been around since 1911. For families with lots of interests, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo offers sea creatures, thrilling rides and wildlife in the same theme park.

One last "must do" for theme park aficionados: the Wild West themed Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park. From Camp Snoopy to some of the most famous roller coasters in the world, you'll be glad you turned your RV toward Knotts Berry Farm.

Cruise the Beaches
Who could visit California without hitting the beach? With more than 450 beach destinations, you could spend a year on the road and not visit them all! California beach cities have become part of American legend - Malibu, La Jolla and Monterey. Add some time there to your family's own legends by cruising the coastline in motor home comfort.

Let Your Family Go Wild
Sequoia National ParkAnother way to experience California is to really get into the wild. With nearly thirty National Parks Service sites in California, your kids can explore nature and history the entire summer. Head for Muir Woods National Monument, part of San Francisco's Golden Gate National Recreation Area, where giant coastal redwoods have been preserved and studied for a century. At northern California's Lassen Volcanic, see where volcanoes have erupted in the past one hundred years! Yosemite, Sequoia and King's Canyon - if you've been meaning to visit one of California's historic National Parks, why not do it this year? Most National Parks offer easy RV camping, so even the least hardy camper can experience it all!

And don't leave California's state parks off your list. Treat your family to spectacular views and wildlife photo opportunities as you hike the trails of Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. Fish for bass and hit the cycling trails at Folsom Lake. If you've never experienced the California desert, Anza-Borrego State Park is the place to go. The variety of wildlife you'll find there, from bighorn sheep to roadrunners, will excite the most jaded city dweller.

Whether you're looking for the endless wave or craving a wild ride on a roller coaster, an RV journey through California is the cure. Winter or summer, there's something fascinating to see in California. Plot your course, rent your RV and get started!

Denver RV Camping Ideas

Any trip to the Mile High City is a great one, but travelling there by RV opens a whole new dimension of fun. Here's a list of traveler's top picks for ways to enjoy the Denver area in the comfort of an RV.

Waking Up to Nature

Chatfield State ParkWaking up in a scenic mountain meadow will thrill even the most jaded vacationer. The scent of pines in the air, water rushing through a stream nearby - who could stay cranky with all that natural beauty outside your door? The Denver area has more than its share of scenic RV campgrounds. Campers especially love the Colorado State Parks within easy driving distance of the Denver metro area. Whether it's Cherry Creek, Chatfield or Golden Gate Canyon State Park, there are plenty of scenic vacation memories in store.

Camping in the Heart of the Party

The people of North Central Colorado love to party, and they throw great festivals year-round! Make tracks in your RV to the Capitol Hill People's Fair, an eclectic arts celebration of Denver's diverse neighborhoods each June. Here's another thought; if hot air balloons perk up your senses, head for the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival at Chatfield State Park in August (just remember to reserve your campsite early!).

For a swan dive into Asian culture, be sure to visit the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival at Sloan Lake Park in Denver. Held each July, this huge festival offers Asian food, arts and music and, best of all, colorful dragon boat races on the lake. Your kids will love this one, so pack the RV, reserve a nearby campsite and take the plunge into the Dragon Boat Festival.

Before we move on to more RV vacation ideas, we can't forget the Colorado Renaissance Festival. Held weekends in July and August in Larkspur, it's full of medieval fun and foolishness, plus some great food adventures! Camp at nearby campgrounds and enjoy the area's natural beauty as well as discovering Old World magic.

Outdoor Adventures Galore

Active vacationers are going to love the Denver area, with outdoor adventure opportunities in abundance. One you should definitely investigate is whitewater rafting. With two major rivers and Clear Creek within easy driving distance, Denver vacationers can experience every level of rafting excitement, from gentle drifting down the river to heart-stopping Level Five adventures.

If you've never experienced the Rockies on horseback, sign yourself up for one of the many area trail rides. Numerous horseback riding venues exist within thirty minutes of Denver, so don't miss this opportunity for a front-row seat to nature. Another great way to see the best of Denver's natural beauty is to try your hand at fly-fishing in nearby scenic rivers.

Whether fishing the mountain streams, rafting down whitewater rapids or travelling mountain meadows on horseback, the Denver area offers RV campers plenty of outdoor adventure. Set up base camp at one of the area RV campgrounds, then get out and enjoy yourself in nature!

As you can see, the Denver metro area is the perfect spot for vacationers travelling by RV. Pick a festival, pack your fishing gear and get ready to wake up to the Rockies. Your first Denver vacation won't be your last!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. July 14, 2009 -- To recognize its promotion of a voluntary carbon offset program, El Monte RV will be a featured AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA NCNU) Greenlight partner during the Auto Club's annual Alternative Fuels Awareness Month in November.

The month-long initiative highlights the efforts of AAA Show Your Card & Save (SYCS) partners to promote alternative fuels and environmentally sound fuel consumption practices to their clients.

El Monte RV offers RV rental customers the opportunity to purchase carbon offsets. Fishing, Wildlife, Attractions & More - Junipers Reservoir RV Resort

Junipers Reservoir RV Resort SignThis is courtesy of our friends at Junipers Reservoir RV Resort.

Located in the heart of an 8,000 acre working cattle ranch, Junipers Reservoir RV Resort is the perfect jumping off point for touring scenic Lake County, Oregon. From one of the 40 spacious pull through sites, visitors can experience much of the natural splendor that Lake County has to offer without ever leaving the property. But you may wish to venture off on a more adventurous journey to a variety of nearby events and attractions.

Enjoy hot showers, clean bathrooms, laundry facilities, propane barbeques, and free wireless internet after a full day of exploring. Resort activities include hiking and biking trails, driving tours, bird watching, wildlife viewing, rock hounding, free fishing, horseshoes, and volleyball.

If you can't get enough of the antelope and mule deer on the ranch, check out nearby Hart Mountain Antelope Refuge for a day, or stop by the Summer Lake Wildlife Area (www.stateparks.com) for extended birding opportunities.

Are you crazy about rocks? After scouring the ranch for treasures such as agate and petrified wood, spend a day collecting sunstones, obsidian, or opals at nearby mines. After hiking or biking to the old Indian campgrounds to hunt for arrowheads and artifacts, take a driving tour of the pristine petroglyphs in the area.

If you are looking for a truly unique experience, check out some of Lake County's natural wonders, including Fort Rock State Park, Crack in the Ground, Abert Rim, and the Old Perpetual Geyser (www.traveloregon.com). But you may prefer to catch as many trout as you can eat right here at the resort without even buying a fishing license. True fishermen will want to visit some of our other local fishing holes as well. And those of you who think you’ve got what it takes to win will want to try your hand at the Chewaucan Challenge (www.chewaucanchallenge.com) in June, an annual fishing derby on the Chewaucan River.

One of Lake County's most valuable resources is its geothermal energy, which you can take advantage of by visiting nearby hot springs for a healing dip or by perusing the perennials at the local geothermal greenhouse. Speaking of shopping, the town of Lakeview, the seat of Lake County, also offers a Saturday market, antiques, and a full service meat locker offering Country Natural Beef, the very same beef that is grazed right here on the ranch surrounding the resort. The Lakeview Lockers also carries products from Stringers Orchard, a wild plum winery in nearby New Pine Creek, California.

Special occasions in Lakeview, also known as Oregon's Tall Town because of its elevation, include Fourth of July fireworks at the fairgrounds, a hang gliding festival, and an antique car show. But the biggest event of the year by far is the annual Lake County Fair and Roundup, held every year on Labor Day weekend. Don't miss the parade through town on Monday morning! Afterwards, spend a sunny day on the golf course, or a rainy day touring the museums. Or, simply relax in the serenely peaceful environment at the resort.

Junipers Reservoir RV Resort offers daily, weekly, monthly, and group rates. For more information on the resort, please visit www.junipersrv.com. For more information on Lake County Oregon, visit the Lake County Chamber of Commerce website.

Burning Man 2009 will be here before you know it. The dates for the 2009 event are August 31 - September 7, 2009.

When planning for Burning Man, the most important rule is to plan early. This is especially true when planning your Burning Man RV Rental. This should come as no surprise - the RV rental locations closest to the event book their inventories the fastest. When it comes to Burning Man RV rentals, the longer you wait, the further away you will have to rent. Of course, for many, the adventure of getting there is half the fun...
