Cape Cod is part of the State of Massachusetts (actually formally known as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts). It is often referred to as Cape Cod and the Islands, which also encompasses the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cape Cod is a Peninsula in eastern Massachusetts that extends all the way from the Cape Cod Canal to Provincetown at its eastern-most tip.
