RV Vacation Idea: Mt. Rainier National Park
Washington
Washington State has many beautiful parks, but Mt. Rainier, quite literally, stands above them all. Established in 1899 by President William McKinley, it was the fifth national park to be designated. Standing at more than 14,000 feet, Mt. Rainier is the tallest point in the Cascade mountain range, and the park encompasses over 368 square miles, including 91,000 acres of old growth forests. In addition, the park was designated a National Historic Landmark in February 1997 due to the Rustic style architecture of the 1920's and 1930's, and contains 42 locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The park offers a variety of things to do, and see. Bicycling, fishing, boating, hiking, and climbing are among the activities offered, as well as spectacular photographic opportunities.
There are three campgrounds in the park that accommodate motorhomes, however, some have length limits. Consult the NPS campground page for more information.
The closest El Monte RV rental location, at approximately 73 miles, is in Seattle, WA. However, if starting your trip from another location is more convenient, we also have many other rental offices, so please visit our locations map to find a location that may be more suitable.

RV Recipe of the Month
Chili con Corny
Ingredients:
1 large can of your favorite chili
1 can of corn, drained
1 box cornbread mix
Directions:
~ Pour the chili and corn into a cast-iron skillet. Mix.
~ Prepare, then spoon the cornbread mix over the top of the chili.
~ Bake in a 350 degree oven until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cornbread comes out clean.
~ Enjoy!
