New Jersey RV Camping Destinations

New Jersey State Flag

Whether you like chasing the sun at the seashore, hiking the many heritage trails, or watching nationally-ranked sports competitions, New Jersey is your perfect pick. Why fight the crowds for hotel rooms, when you can spend your nights in motorhome comfort? Other tourists may settle for fast food on the road, but your family’s going to love the great meals cooked in your RV kitchen. With so much to see in New Jersey and New York, you’ll appreciate the time and money saved by RV camping.

National Parks

The New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail is an entire vacation in itself! The Trail’s three hundred miles are divided into five major regions that feature lighthouses, historic villages, stunning seashore vistas and wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities.

Birdwatchers should definitely plan to camp at Great Egg Harbor National Scenic and Recreational River. It’s been rated one of the top ten birdwatching spots in America!

Want to combine learning with vacation fun? Spend the day at the Thomas Edison home and laboratory at West Orange, New Jersey. Managed by the National Parks Service, the Edison complex offers a fascinating glimpse at this famous inventor.

Across the state line in New York, the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area can be your ‘rolling classroom’ as you visit it by RV. Historic residences, Revolutionary War and colonial sites, and beautiful river scenery stretch along the banks of the River, just waiting to be explored.

Major Attractions and Events

When you think of New Jersey, “boardwalk” should be part of the picture. The Garden State boasts several popular seaside boardwalk destinations. Besides the beach, they offer arcades, amusement parks, exhibitions and enough fun to keep you coming back. One your family’s going to love is Jenkinson’s at Point Pleasant Beach. Ride the miniature train and try your skill at the giant arcade!

Other family-friendly boardwalks to visit include
Funtown Pier in Seaside Heights and Morey’s Pier at Wildwood. A day on the boardwalk is sure to build memories for your entire RV party.

The beaches of New Jersey aren’t just for sunbathing, though! The gorgeous Victorian village of
Cape May, New Jersey has been proclaimed a National Historic Landmark, so make it a point to visit this quaint treasure. Another high point along New Jersey’s one hundred twenty seven miles of coastline is, of course, Atlantic City Casinos of every flavor dot the boardwalk, but don’t miss the museums, the spas and the tallest lighthouse in the state!

For a truly wild adventure, why not turn your rental RV toward
Adventure Aquarium in Camden? The forty-foot shark tunnel and awesome rainforest waterfall aren’t to be missed!

And we haven’t even started talking about New York! Just a short drive away from our New Jersey RV rental location, New York can add twice as much excitement to your vacation. Football fans have two chances for pro football (and tailgating) fun. Cheer on the
New York Jets or the Giants at the Meadowlands. If baseball’s your sport, join fans for a game at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

New Jersey is also no slouch when it comes to college football! In fact, the very first intercollegiate football game was played at Rutgers. Take in a game during your fall RV vacation at Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway and learn why the
Scarlet Knights are a perennial championship team. Princeton fans should definitely also plan to watch the Princeton Tigers play while touring New Jersey by motorhome. Fans from both schools converge in the parking lots to test their tailgating skills, and an RV makes it super easy!

NASCAR fans won’t be sorry they came to New Jersey, with three major tracks within easy driving distance.
Watkins Glen International in New York has hosted the Sprint Cup Series for more than two decades, so be sure to schedule a stop during race season. In nearby Dover, Delaware, race fans can thrill to the action at world famous Dover International Speedway. For a triple dose of racing fun, be sure to visit the famous triangle track at Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania. Chasing the NASCAR circuit is comfortable and affordable when it starts with an RV rental!
