FESTIVAL SEASON - RV CAMPING AT MUSIC FESTIVALS
You read that right! Music festivals are (coming) back! And, RV’er music fans will be able to camp and enjoy these wonderful festive events once more. We aren’t guaranteeing that all of the festivals below will actually occur, so you should definitely make sure to check with the organizers or host venue to be sure that they are really on, but here’s a great list of resources and concerts to check out when you are ready to get out and enjoy music festivals from your RV once again!
First of all, you should check out the Music Festival Wizard and all of its listings of concerts around the country. This site lists a ton of different venues and different types of music that you may be interested in. For example, in December, there is the Hijinx Festival in Philadelphia and the Decadence concerts in Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado. Also in December are the OMFG! NYE concert in San Diego and Lights all Night in Minneapolis, not to be outdone by the No Resolutions Festival in Branford, Florida, all for New Year’s Eve.
And, after surviving the rest of this year, you can look ahead to concert festivals in January of 2022, when you can travel to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for the Music Fest Steamboat on January 5-10. Then is the San Diego Brew Festival on January 8, and the 30A Songwriters Festival from January 14-17th. In Orlando, from January 20-24 is the Groove Cruise, and if you happen to be in Chicago around January 20-22, there is the Tomorrow Never Knows concert. These are just a sampling of the many concerts you will find on the Music Festival Wizard.
After that, planning ahead to February of next year, you could take in a concert in Long Beach, for the Cali Vibes concert from February 4-6, or the Gem and Jam concert in Tucson on the same weekend. Go to San Francisco for the Noise Pop concert from February 21-27th for a week of this indie loving showcase fest also dabbles in art and film along with some of the very best in upcoming musical artists.
And, if you happen to be into the electric music scene, plan ahead for March of next year when you can see the Ultra Music Festival on March 25, 26, 27 – 2022 at Bayfront Park, in Downtown Miami. This is a pricey affair but has a fantastic lineup of about 140 musical acts over the three-day festival.
Another great resource for finding concert venues is Songkick. A few of the highlights found here include Coldplay on the 15th of January in Inglewood, California. Also found there is the weekend of January 7th to 9th, 2022, when the Rhythm Collision, Weekend, #8 will be taking place in Riverside, California. If Bluegrass is your favored type of music, don’t miss the Bluegrass in Super Class from the 9th to the 11th of January in Maumee Bay Lodge in Oregon. And Portland hosts its Folk Festival from the 14th to 16h of January while that same weekend travelers to Key West can enjoy Dokken at their RokIsland Festival.
For those who like the winter resorts, Lake Tahoe hosts a Snowjam on the 15th of January while the DL Lounge NYc Saturday Night’s General Admission takes place in New York City. And not to be left out, the country music crowd can enjoy a week-long cruise on the Holland America cruise ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam, out of Fort Lauderdale for the week from the 15th to the 22nd of January.

Coachella, which is scheduled to take place from April 15-17, takes place in Indio, California and this year promises to feature Rage Against the Machine, Swedish House Mafia and many more bands. Selling out fast every year, the Indio desert becomes a fashionable hive of the coolest bands watched by trendy people and celebrities. Near the top of everyone's bucket list of festivals, the Coachella lineup is a constant source of annual anticipation and a hotbed for musical discussion.
Being held this year, from July 28-31, 2022 in Grant Park, Chicago, this represents a wonderful gathering of music, dance, comedy and craft booths, Lollapalooza is another multi-genre delight which also provides a platform for political and non-profit artists and groups. The festival is forever creating historical moments in many a musician’s career firmly cementing it in the global hall of fame for festivals.
The festival in Austin, Texas will be held this year from March 11-20th, and will feature such bands as Sunflower Bean, Shamir, Circuit Des Yeux, Moor Mother, Charlie Hickey and many more.
Regarded as the ultimate trend-setter and launcher of careers, SXSW is an annual showcase of music, film and interactive highlights enjoyed through performances, showcases, talks, screenings and more. Virtually taking over the city of Austin, everyone in the world of music from fans to media flock here to discover the next big thing.

Organized by independently focused music source Pitchfork Media, this three-day event is a music genre melting pot of rock, hip-hop, electronic, jazz, punk and any other genres and sub-genres you will want to celebrate. With a record fair, food, art and beverages from local and national vendors, this truly is a cultural feast.

Aside from its two popular US events in Vegas and Orlando, this fairytale carnival experience has also visited Puerto Rico, Mexico and the UK.
