There are many possible one tank-trips from San Diego where you can take in some of the most popular sights to see around southern California. The San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, the Cabrillo Lighthouse, the Birch Aquarium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Cleveland National Forest just to name a few of the closest attractions. You can even go see seals sunning themselves on the rocks near the Scripps Institute in La Jolla. From New York or New Jersey, you can drive about an hour south to get to Philadelphia, continue south another hour to Wilmington and one more hour to take in the sights of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. All these cities are easily accessible from I-95 and less than three hours’ total driving time from New York or New Jersey.
