In 2004 the first National Campvention of the Deaf was held in Iowa. Subsequent events were held in West Yellowstone, MT in 2007 with 222, then in 2009 in Estes Park, CO with 346 campers, then in 2011 it was held in Moab, UT and there were 611 deaf campers!
Always a good time, the Western States Deaf Campers is a biennial special event, and has become a tradition for many of the deaf. It is an opportunity to re-connect with old friends and make new ones. There are always a a variety of activities included that range from fishing, tours, rafting, etc.
