Sequoia National Park 
RV Vacation Idea: Sequoia National Park

If giant trees are your passion, then you'll want to make sure you plan a trip to Sequoia National Park in California.  Spanning over 400,000 acres, the park also contains the highest point (over 14,000 ft) in the contiguous United States - Mount Whitney.  The park has the distinction of being home to the General Sherman Tree, which lives in the Giant Forest.  At 274 feet in height, the General Sherman sequoia tree is the largest known tree in the world!
 
But giant sequoias are certainly not the only reason to visit this beautiful park. Make sure you leave time to take a tour of the Crystal Cave; a three mile long cavern, it is the second largest cave in the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Park complex. 
 

The park offers a wide variety of activities, including rock climbing, hiking, bird and animal watching, horseback riding, and spectacular photography!

 

There are several campgrounds within the park, however, there are seasonal restrictions and some that do not allow rvs.  To make sure you select the right campground, check out the page on camping for more information.
 
The closest El Monte RV rental location is in Van Nuys, CA. However, if starting your trip from another location is more convenient, we also have many other rental offices, so please visit our locations map to find a location that may be more suitable.  
RV Recipe of the Month
 
Hobo Stew
 
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
2 cans Veg-All
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 small onion, diced
1 soup can and 1 tomato sauce can of water
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
~ Brown the beef and onion in a large skillet.
~ Add all other ingredients stir and simmer for 10 minutes.
