Canaveral National Seashore, established in 1975 by Congress, is 25 miles of beautiful, pristine beach along the east coast of Florida.
Home to sea turtles and manatees, it is also a bird lovers paradise. Arctic peregrine falcons, bald eagles and Florida scrub jays call the park home. In addition, large numbers of migrating waterfowl, wading birds and shorebirds can be seen during the spring and fall migration periods and winter.
While you're in the area, you'll want to take a short trip to the Kennedy Space Center, just 29 miles south. View the Space Shuttle Atlantis, take in a bus tour, or catch a show in the IMAX Theatre. Whatever your interest, there's much to do and see there.
The closest El Monte RV rental location is in Orlando, FL. However, if starting your trip from another location is more convenient, we also have many other rental offices, so please visit our locations map to find a location that may be more suitable.

RV Recipe of the Month
New Orleans Chicken
Ingredients:
1/2 of a 3 or 4 lb whole chicken, skin removed
1/3 cup flour
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 lb smoked sausage
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
2 red bell peppers, chopped
3 Roma tomatoes, chopped
1 Tsp. brown sugar
3/4 Tsp. dried thyme
3/4 Tsp. dried oregano
1/2 Tsp. salt
1/4 Tsp. allspice
1 1/2 cup long grain white rice
2 1/4 cup chicken broth
Directions:
~Cut chicken into pieces and dredge chicken pieces in flour.
~ Place vegetable oil in a large saucepan and brown chicken for 8 minutes per side.
~Transfer browned chicken to a plate.
~Add smoked sausage, minced garlic, chopped onions, chopped red peppers, chopped tomatoes, brown sugar, thyme, oregano, salt and allspice to pan. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peppers are softened.
~ Stir in rice and chicken broth.
~ Place browned chicken pieces into rice mixture.
~ Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover.
~ Let cook for 25 minutes, until liquid is absorbed and juices run clear.
