Padre Island National Seashore holds the distinction of being the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world!
It is also responsible for protecting sea turtles and 380 different species of birds, as well as 70 miles of coastline, dunes, prairies, and wind tidal flats.
Escape to the solitude of this remarkable place. Build a sandcastle, go beachcombing, go fishing or take a leisurely bike ride. From mid-June to August, visitors may have the opportunity to see a sea turtle hatchling release!

RV Recipe of the Month
Bacon Cheddar Muffins
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 green onion, chopped
2 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
crumbled bacon
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Directions:
~ Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
~ Lightly grease 6 muffin cups and set aside.
~ In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, chopped green onion, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded Cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
~ In a separate bowl, using a whisk, combine egg, milk and vegetable oil.
~ Mix well and stir mixture into dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened.
~ Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
~ Bake in oven for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of muffins comes out clean.

You can request the carbon offset option when you reserve via the call center, or when picking up at the rental counter. It's easy, affordable, and every cent of this nominal fee goes straight to Terra Pass to fund various carbon-offsetting programs.
