Our holiday trip was organized und scheduled to visit part of british columbia. Because of cirrcumtances there were no motorhomes available in BC during the time we want to go. Our travel agency has made the proposal to rent a motohome in the USA. The renting company was El Monte, located in Farndale, south of the border Canada - United States of America. We have agreed to take this option. Everything was organized properly between Canasa our travel agency and El Monte. As scheduled El Monte (a nice and very well organized Lady) has pick up us at a hotel close to the Vancouver airport. The Lady moved us from there to the El Monte Service Point. To pass the border it has taken a bit , until all the necessary things had been done.
At the El Monte service point everything was prepared to take over the motorhome as it was ordered.
When ever i needed support i got it. Always, the staff of El Monte was friendly, reliable.
The motorhome itself was almost new and in a very good shape. Little issues: in some corners a bit of dust was still there.

When our trip was finished, to bring us from the El Monte service point back to the Vancouver International airport. Also that was organized properly.
The motorhome itself was almost new and in a very good shape. Little issues: in some corners a bit of dust was still there.
The sleeping mattress was a bit worn out, nothing for a bad back. A large floor mat should be part of the basic equipment. That would help that you don't carry the dirt straight into the motorhome.
We met some others who rented motorhomes from the compatitors and they were more than disapointed for variuos reasons. From our point of view, it was a very good decision to take a motorhome from the El Monte company.
Many thanks

Plus: Staff were really friendly, they were helpful and told us a lot of useful things about the RV, because this was out first rental.
Neg: The rental place is not very convincing, its quite dirty, we even saw roaches and a rat.
The 26ft Sunseeker we rented was in OK condition. There were some minor damage to the inside but it was mainly aesthetic damage.

Day 5
Beatty to Furnace Creek, Death Valley
40 miles - 1 hour
Furnace Creek is an oasis in the middle of the desert - a lush area amidst the bare rocks, dunes and salt flats that make up Death Valley National Park. We suggest the National Park Campground adjacent to the Visitor Center. It has showers, toilets, and is a short walk from Furnace Creek In - a local ranch-style hotel with restaurant, golf course and horseback riding. A great location for visiting all that Death Valley has to offer.
Day 6
Death Valley to Baker
113 miles - 2 hours
Day 6
Death Valley to Baker
113 miles - 2 hours
Exit Death Valley on the Badwater Road, stopping at 'Badwater' - the lowest point in North America. Walk out onto the salt flats and cast your eyes around the surrounding scenery...it's like nothing you have seen before. As you exit the park, you will go through Shoshone where you may want to stop for a beer or maybe lunch. Now drive south, through the San Bernardino Valley, alongside Death Valley, to the town of Baker on the edge of the Mojave National Preserve. Two developed, family style campgrounds, the Mid Hills Campground and the Hole-in-the-Wall Campground, are available year-round.
Day 7
Baker to Las Vegas
180 miles - 3 hrs 15 min plus stopping time
Day 7
Baker to Las Vegas
180 miles - 3 hrs 15 min plus stopping time
Head northeast out of the Preserve toward Searchlight. You will possibly experience national security checks as you approach the dam itself but it's totally non-invasive, so no worries. At Hoover Dam you will be amazed at this man-made structure which controls the water from the Colorado River, feeding Nevada and California. Following this, our suggestion is that you drive back to Las Vegas Oasis Resort for your last night in the motorhome, maybe via Boulder and the Hoover Dam Museum.
Day 8
Returning Your Motorhome
2 miles - 10 min.
