Yes, you can use a debit card to pay the remaining balance on your El Monte RV rental, but you cannot use a debit card for the security deposit. The security deposit must be paid by credit card in the primary renter’s name.
The standard security deposit is $1,500 and is due when you pick up your El Monte RV. The deposit must be paid by credit card in the primary renter’s name.
A higher security deposit may be required for certain major events, such as Burning Man or EDC.
Toll charges and payment methods vary by location. Depending on where you travel, toll roads may accept cash or credit cards, require electronic payment, or use a prepaid toll account.
Check the toll requirements for your route before travelling. If you purchase El Monte RV’s Unlimited Toll Coverage, eligible toll charges are covered for a flat nightly rate.
El Monte RV accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express for the security deposit and remaining rental balance.
No, El Monte RV does not accept prepaid cards, stored-value cards or gift cards as payment for rental charges.
For standard RV rentals, you can prepay for mileage in 100-mile packages for $37 each or pay $0.38 per mile when you return your RV.
An Unlimited Mileage option is also available for an additional fee. Monthly rental offers may include up to 1,500 miles, with additional mileage available for purchase.
Yes, some rental locations are subject to additional state-specific fees. Current fees include:
*California: $2 per night Vehicle License Fee
*Colorado: $5.34 per night Road Safety Fee
*Florida: $0.70 per night Vehicle License Fee
*Nevada: $10 per night Vehicle License Fee
*New Jersey: $0.55 per night Vehicle License Fee and $5 per night State Security Fee
*Texas: $1 per night Vehicle License Fee
Applicable fees depend on your rental location.
One-way fees typically range from $200 to $750, depending on your drop-off location and fleet availability.
In some cases, the fee may be higher if additional fleet relocation is required to return the RV to its original location.
Yes. Depending on your rental and trip, additional costs may include mileage charges, optional Travel Extras, insurance, cleaning fees, propane and event-related surcharges.

Yes, every El Monte RV rental includes unlimited generator use at no additional fee. This means El Monte RV does not charge you based on how many hours you run the generator.
The generator provides electricity when your RV is not connected to campground power, allowing you to use electrical appliances and air conditioning without an external power connection. The generator uses fuel from the RV’s fuel tank, so running it will increase your fuel consumption and you are responsible for the fuel used during your rental.
Effective April 1, 2027, pricing will change to $3.50 per hour or $12 per night for our Unlimited Generator option.
Yes. The gray and black waste tanks should be returned empty. If you prefer not to empty the tanks yourself, a paid dumping service may be available at the rental center.
Yes, Insurance coverage is required for El Monte RV rentals. Depending on your rental, available protection options may include a collision damage waiver, supplemental liability coverage and trip protection.

No. Fuel is not included in the nightly rental rate. You are responsible for refueling the RV before returning it; the gas level when you return it should be the same as when you picked it up.
Yes, the RV’s propane tank should be full when you return the vehicle unless you selected a prepaid propane refill option.
No, campground fees are not included in your El Monte RV rental price. Campsites must be booked and paid for separately, and rates vary depending on the campground, location, amenities and season.
Late fees apply if you return your RV after your scheduled drop-off time. Charges include the difference between your original and actual return time slot, plus $50 for each additional hour after your scheduled drop-off.
